2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by IONOS SE. On every visit, the host automatically processes technical access data (IP address, date and time, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser used, referrer URL) in server log files. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and functional operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is deleted automatically after a short period and is not combined with other data sources.
3. Contact form
When you use the contact form, we process the data you provide (name, email address, optional phone number, subject, message) solely to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual enquiry) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding). Your details are deleted once they are no longer required for this purpose, subject to any statutory retention obligations.
A hidden form field and a minimum fill-in time are used to prevent automated spam submissions (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); no personal data is transmitted to third parties in the process.
4. Access to the library (email sign-up)
To use the music library, you provide your email address. We then send a confirmation email (double opt-in): your registration only takes effect once you click the link it contains. We store the email address, the time consent was given, the IP address used at that time, and the time of confirmation as proof of consent (Art. 6(1)(a) in conjunction with Art. 7(1) GDPR). If you would also like occasional updates about new music, this is a separate, voluntary consent. Both consents can be withdrawn at any time with future effect, via the unsubscribe link at the end of every email or by contacting us. Registrations that are never confirmed (no click on the confirmation link) are deleted automatically after 7 days.
Once confirmed, your device receives a technically necessary cookie that recognises you for up to 12 months, so you do not have to sign in again on every visit (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). On a new device, you can sign in again via a sign-in link sent by email, without any password.
5. Access via QR code
Some QR codes grant time-limited access to the library without requiring your own sign-up. No personal data such as an email address is collected in this case; we only store a technical session cookie on your device and anonymous usage figures per QR code (number and time of scans) to evaluate the campaign (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6. Cookies
This website uses only technically necessary cookies (sign-in session, QR access). No cookies are set for analytics, marketing or tracking purposes, no third-party content is embedded, and no data is shared with third-party providers.
7. Retention periods at a glance
| Data | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Contact enquiries | Until resolved, then deleted |
| Unconfirmed library sign-up | 7 days |
| Confirmed email address (library) | Until withdrawal/unsubscribe |
| Sign-in cookie | Up to 12 months, renewed on use |
| Play statistics (anonymised per track) | Up to 400 days |
8. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21), as well as the right to withdraw any consent given at any time with future effect (Art. 7(3)). You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). Please feel free to contact us at the email address above.
9. No automated decision-making
No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.
